A MVBL Feast

4/6/12

Every Friday at the corner of Canoas Gardens and Curtner Avenue, hungry folks wait in long lines to order street food from a caravan of brightly-painted food trucks. These aren't your average roach coaches though. The vendors at Movable Feast serve creative and gourmet dishes that are easy to eat while standing. Or sitting, if you're lucky enough to find a vacant red bucket to turn over and use as a stool. From lobster rolls to deconstructed samosas to ice cream sandwiches, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Movable Feast has four regularly scheduled Street Food Markets every week throughout San Jose. For more information on locations and times, check out their website.

Tip: Bring your own camping chairs to sit in so you don't have to worry about finding a seat.

  1. YUM! This is something I'm really looking forward to when I get home. I love good food carts.

  2. I always have so much fun when we head to the Moveable Feast gatherings. One of the things I love most is that a) people can ordered from different vendors and still eat together, and b) it completely removes the awkward "someone didn't put enough money in" situations when you go out with a group of friends.

    1. Your second point is a good one. I like that I can eat things from different vendors too. A little bit of this, and a little bit of that.

  3. Is this something new in town? I've never heard of it. One of my student's parents mentioned something similar that happens in the city that they've invited me to this summer. I'll have to check it out because it sounds yummy.
